Why Deliverance Will Cost You Relationships, Comfort, and Convenience
Everyone says they want freedom…
But not everyone is willing to pay the price.
Because real deliverance?
It will cost you.
It’ll cost you more than a church service.
More than a prayer line.
More than a “this was a good word” shout.
Deliverance will cost you the very things you once leaned on to survive.
🛑 Let’s Be Honest…
You can’t walk in freedom and keep the people, habits, and comforts that helped you stay bound.
You want Egypt’s food while asking for Canaan’s fruit.
You want a Pharaoh relationship while praying for a Moses breakthrough.
But God doesn’t free people halfway.
He burns the bridge.
💥 What Deliverance Will Cost You:
1️⃣ People You Love but God Didn’t Send
Let’s talk about it.
- That soul tie? Gone.
- That manipulative “friend”? Exposed.
- That group chat? Suddenly uncomfortable.
- That leader you idolized? Revealed.
Freedom often exposes the people who were assigned to your bondage.
It’s not that you’re better than them.
It’s that you’re no longer in agreement with the spirit they carry.
And when you’re delivered, the conversation shifts.
The old cycle can’t continue.
And neither can the connection that supported it.
2️⃣ Your Own Comfort Zones
Deliverance requires discomfort. Period.
- You’ll be lonely before you’re surrounded.
- You’ll be called out before you’re called up.
- You’ll be convicted before you’re celebrated.
God will snatch the blanket off your hiding place and make you walk by faith, not familiarity.
You want fire?
He’ll require discipline.
You want clarity?
He’ll require silence.
You want elevation?
He’ll demand obedience.
3️⃣ Convenience and Flesh-Level Coping
Freedom doesn’t always feel good at first.
Sometimes deliverance leaves you with no fallback:
- No DMs to run to.
- No toxic comfort to lean on.
- No “just one more time” to go back to.
You’ll be faced with you.
Just you.
And God.
No crutches.
No distractions.
Just truth, fire, healing… and decisions.
Deliverance exposes how addicted we were to dysfunction.
📖 Jesus Warned Us:
“If any man would come after Me, let him deny himself, take up his cross, and follow Me.” – Luke 9:23
That’s not just a salvation verse.
That’s a freedom strategy.
You can’t carry your cross and your comfort at the same time.
🙏🏽 Prayer: The Courage to Pay the Price
“Lord, I want to be free — all the way free.
Even if it costs me people I love.
Even if it costs me what’s comfortable.
Even if it costs me what I thought I needed to survive.
I give You permission to remove what’s blocking my breakthrough.
I want You more than I want to stay the same.
In Jesus’ name, amen.”
⚔️ Final Word:
Deliverance is free — but walking in freedom will cost you everything that tried to enslave you.
And it’s worth it.

Because missing it doesn’t mean you need it.
And freedom isn’t proven by what you feel — it’s proven by what you refuse to return to.
